Contest FAQ

Here are answers to the most common questions regarding the Showtanz Contest.

1. Who can participate?

Any amateur dance group is welcome! We divide categories by age group, so ensure your dancers meet the age requirements for the category you register for.

2. What are the stage dimensions?

The stage at the Tudorfer Bürgerhalle is 12 meters wide by 8 meters deep, with a clear height of 4.5 meters. Acrobatic throws and high lifts should be planned accordingly.

3. Is there a time limit for performances?

Yes. Performances must be between 4 and 8 minutes long. This includes entrance and exit. Going over or under the time limit may result in point deductions from the jury.

4. How is the winner determined?

Our independent panel of judges scores each performance based on four criteria:

• Choreography & Complexity
• Synchronicity & Execution
• Theme & Expression
• Costume & Visual Impact
